You’ve probably heard it a hundred times that in order to plan and execute Soccer practice games successfully, there are numerous factors that play important roles. Some of these factors are player’s division into groups, bringing in a variety of formations, frequently altering the activities, making adequate equipment available, and creating soccer drills that are game like. In order for you understand these factors better; let me make these more clear to you.
Classify players into groups: Use grids to identify the borders of general space for each group. Take all necessary precautions to ensure your player’s safety. Also, you should be able to effectively observe them during the soccer practice games. The effect of this format is that all players get to lay their hands on the ball many times, individually. Grouping kids based on what their age is an additional way to break them up.
Altering the formations; for effecting a better grooming of players, make it a point to continue changing their combination among various groups. Consequently, the players will get a chance to play with one another. When soccer training is planned like this, players get to accomplish relatively more in a shorter time period. Each practice session is an opportunity for you, the coach to introduce more activities for the players.
Bring variety into daily activities and do not spend more than 10 to 15 minutes on each drill. When you change the drills very often, the players tend to enhoy the variety.
Hence, they perform well because of less monotony. Altering the order of the activities makes the drills progress efficiently. For instance, you must introduce soccer exercises that use triangles, squares, and circles for drill work and this brings freshness to the sessions.
Arranging ample equipment: as there are now many groups engaged in different activities, you should have ample equipment for them. You will need to arrange 24 small size game markers of different colors, scrimmage vests, and a ball for every player. Then, you also need temporary goal posts apart from the usual ones.
Making the kids enjoy in a game-like atmosphere: That said, it is of utmost importance that the kids enjoy their game. For this reason, it’s important that they are presented in a game like fashion. This will lead to players developing skills while at the same time enjoying the game. The practices discussed above do not include designated times for water breaks and stretching. Wherever needed, this time must come from outside this schedule.
Now, you must absorb what you’ve learnt and include in the soccer practice games that you create.
